Getting Started with Yoga – Improve Your Physical and Mental Wellbeing

Access to fitness has never been this easy, there are free exercising videos available online for everyone. You don’t have to leave your home and pay to go to a class. There are many yoga, pilates and workout videos available. You just need to choose something and stick with it, daily exercising is best for your body, any physical activity is great for the body.

Nowadays many of us sit at a desk in front of a computer all day, but our bodies are made for moving and long distance endurance. Doing yoga is a great way to help with back pain, it strenghtens your muscles and your body can gain back more flexibility. Don’t have enough time? Exercising does not just improve your physical, but also your mental wellbeing, it should be a priority and you have to make time for it. You can follow shorter videos, if you don’t have time or just half a video. Only do yoga poses that you are capable of doing, if something hurts stop immediatly (speak to your doctor for further advise). As a beginner you don’t have to do a all the exercises in the videos, just do as much as you can, it is going to get easier with time.

Consistency is important I you didn’t do yoga all day and your tired you could do a 7 minute bedtime yoga in your pyjamas! Trying to do yoga daily will improve your health significantly. Apart from yoga you could also go on walks and do workouts, just start somewhere and don’t give up! You can do this! For any fellow IBS sufferers there is a yoga practice for gut health! Your health lies in your hands!

Most importantly for doing yoga you will need a yoga mat! If you have a foam camping mat you can try using it, before bying a proper yoga mat.
