The most common signs which would suggest you might be suffering from food intolerances
Intolerances are not the same as allergies, there is no reliable test for food intolerances. After ruling out real food allergies (IgE antibodies) and celiac disease and other conditions, you might be intolerant to some foods if you have any of the following symptoms:
- gastrointestinal symptoms – diarrhea, constipation
- elevated body temperature
- skin problems – acne, oily skin, clogged pores
- stomache ache
- headaches / migraines
- gas – bloating, flatulence, burping
- exhaustion, tiredness
- feeling unwell (especially after eating)
The only way to diagnose food intolerances is by observing your body after eating certain foods, this can be done by elimintation diet and food challenges. Everything you do is at your own risk, please talk to your doctor before you do anything. Before eliminating gluten from your diet, get tested for celiac disease, as afterwards diagnosis will be impossible! The most common food intolerances and allergies are th 14 main food allergens as well as foods high in FODMAPs. That’s why the low FODMAP Diet can be a good choice as elimination diet for food intolerances and sensitivities.
