Gluten Free Waffles with Oat (egg free)
Crispy gluten and egg free waffles
Equipment
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 70 g (2.47 oz) rice flour_
- 60 g (2.12 oz) oat flour_
- 55 g (1.94 oz) potato starch_
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder_
- 26 g (0.92 oz) whole cane sugar_
- 1 tsp locust bean gum_ or tara gum
- 1 pinch vanilla bean powder_ optional (or some vanilla extract)
- 1 pinch salt_
Wet Ingredients
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) water
- 175 ml (6.16 floz) milk of choice_
- 10 ml (2 tsp) apple cider vinegar_
- 40 ml (2.7 tbsp) oil plus more for greasing
Instructions
- Mix all the dry ingredients together with a whisk.
- Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth.
- Turn on the waffle maker, once hot grease with some oil.
- Add a portion of the batter to the waffle maker, bake until golden brown.
- Repeat with the rest of the batter.
- Put the waffles on a cooling rack or plate.
- Serve with some powdered sugar on top or some syrup.
Notes
This recipe makes 4 to 6 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle maker and thickness of the batter. A thicker batter makes fewer thick waffles, a thinner batter makes more thinner waffles.
Use less milk for thicker waffles, more for thinner ones.
