Simple nut free, dairy free basil pesto
Equipment
Ingredients
- 190 g (2 cups) fresh basil leaves
- 45 g (⅓ cup) nutritional yeast flakes_
- 60 ml (¼ cup) olive oil_
- 2 cloves garlic
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) lemon juice
- ½ tsp salt_
- black pepper_ to taste
Instructions
- Place the garlic in a food processor and pulse until it is finely minced.
- Add the basil, nutritional yeast flakes, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the food processor or blender.
- Pulse the ingredients until they are well combined.
- Slowly stream in the olive oil while the food processor is running.
- Blend the ingredients until the pesto is smooth and well combined.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Notes
You can serve this basil pesto over pasta, spread it on sandwiches or wraps, or use it as a dip. Enjoy!
